Chapter 47 :

Anvaya's POV

It's my fault.

It was my fault the whole time.

I was a fool to think he was just another CEO, just another person in the darker side of the world obsessed with me. I underestimated him and today, he showed me the very reality I was unbeknownst to.

I stood in front of the bathroom mirrorโ€”maybe staring at my reflection, maybe staring through myself.

I don't know.

Kaaryakshโ€”that name gave something more than just shivers now.

Previously, I shuddered under his touches and control over me, upon hearing his name called in my direction. But now, there was a fear ofย  seeing myself doing something to him and thenโ€”I disappeared from this world the very next day.

No one would search. No one would dare open the file lying at the corner of the rusted iron shelf in a police station with my name inked on a tattered label. It'd lie there and turn into a forgotten piece of paper under someone whoโ€ฆ existed.

Because he owned everyone.

He owned more than just a company that topped charts, bagged awards every year or had its name on everyone's tongue. He owned a company that was like any other biopharmaceutical company but underneath โ€” it owned each and every company, hospital, religious places, schools, hostels, hotels, restaurants and what not โ€” that made deals in billions each year.

He didn't just own the person but he owned what they were dedicated toโ€”their career.

A person can do anything to save the career they worked their whole life for, which was now crumbling due to their greed.

And there existed Kaaryaksh.

They signed their career to him, unknowingly or maybe knowingly, just so that the world continued to see their careers still flowed, but from insideโ€”they had now borrowed their own careers from Kaaryaksh.

That was his power.

He would exist without any of the people he owned, but, none of those people would exist without him.

He didn't depend on them because he knew it well that how they'd turn to him for help. And they did. So he owned. He never called them, but the situations made them run to him.

I gasped lowly, unable to grasp the extent his power went to.

"What have I gotten myself into?" I asked my reflection, still grasping what he showed me today.

My eyesโ€”they held fear.

I was strong. But he was beyond strong and influential.

He wasn't someone needed to be glorified. His existence and control was enough to know their power and intensity.

I knew he'd never hurt me. Not even remove a hair from my skin with force but still, his power scared me. My heart feared he might do something to me under his obedience toward his wife and thenโ€” "There existed Anvaya once,"ย  People might say.

I'm not even sure if they will.

Because he might not let them.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

I can't even run away.

Maybe the earth would itself drag me back to him. Maybe the sky itself would shine in the way that lead me back to him. Maybe even the wind would flow in his direction.

I was under his mercy.

He didn't even take away my freedom. But he followed me wherever I went, whatever I did. His presence would be silent, but known.

His silence screamed.

I jumped on my place with a shreak, when two strong arms wrapped around my waist.

My wide eyes looked in the mirror to find him behind me, holding me in my place. My heart was pounding because of his sudden appearance. Or maybe I was too zoned out to notice.

My previously freezing body was now turning colder, legs shaking from everything I was shown today. Memories of the estate and his control and power still flashed across my eyes like they never wanted to leave.

As if to let me know how powerful was the person I belonged to.

It was bitter to admit. Humiliation to my name. Maybe even a shame.

But I didn't care anymore.

We had crossed our boundaries already.

Now whatever has to happen, will happen.

My voice had died down my throat. My trembling eyes just looked at him, his gaze locked with mine through the mirror.

I was in just my black thong and bra. Nothing covered me. It wasn't needed. He knew me more than I remembered about myself. He knew the dips and curves on my skin, the map of my very physical existence.

"You know I won't hurt you," he muttered against my nape, pressing a sloppy kiss.

I heaved a shaky breath, my gaze falling down to my fingers tightly clasped on the sink edge.

"I know."

"Your existence is yours. You just belong to me." He said, pressing another kiss on my jaw. "Your existence will exist forever with me."

He knew what I was thinking. I feared if he also knew what I thought about him.

Those thoughts weren't sane. They weren't rational. Justifiable. But I felt them. Had them in my mind.

"I know."

I gasped, my wide eyes shot in his direction.

"I know how much you desire me. Even if you never word them, I've long heared your thoughts about me." He stated, his fingers running down the sides of my ribs, giving me shivers. The hair on my skin had stood up, toes slightly curling against his warmth in the cold air. His lips still etched on my skin.

"Your eyes are enough, my sweet sin."

A low moan vibrated in my throat, head tilting back when he bit on that spot before he let go with a slow, long lick.

I looked at myself in the mirror.

A hickey.

His thoughts had overpowered my mind too deep that I hadn't even realized when he marked my skin.

I gasped when he turned me around suddenly, making my hands instinctively go to his shoulders for support. His arms were still around my waist.

I looked down at him, properly dressed. Whereas I was bare.

My throat ached to release the words that has formed. But I feared my trembling voice would embarass me. I wanted to make a move, be bold and just let my mind take control over me.

I didn't want to be same with him.

"Then don't be," he muttered, pressing his lips to my neck. My grip on his shoulders tightened.

"You're all dressed whereas I'm all bare. That's unfair," I murmured, gathering all the courage inside me.

He chuckled against my neck. "Then undress me."

I moved back slightly and looked at him. His eyes didn't tell he lied. He never lied.

And my gaze dropped to his shirt.

I want this.

Yes. I do.

I don't want to deny my desires anymore. I had enough.

My fingers went to the first button, sliping it out with tremble. Then followed the second, then third and then, the end button came. I pulled out the shirt from his pants, before sliding it down his shoulders and dropped on the ground.

"Belt," I muttered, looking into his eyes.

They were darker.

Lust. Desires. Andโ€ฆ what was the flicker about? I saw a flicker at the end.

But I was too high on my desires to even care about anything else.

"Take it off," was enough for me.

Hastily, I took off his belt before looking back into his eyes.

"I won't deny anymore. Give me all you have. I want it and yes, I do. I'm sure," I said in one go because I knew he'd asked if I was sure. His words always made me question my decisions when it came to admitting my desires. And somehow, that made me stay away from decisions made on impulse.

He was a gray man. Not doing the right thing. Not the wrong.

"Then I'm all yours," he muttered and joined our lips.

The kiss was fierce, filled with raw desires tangled in the mess he'd created and I let myself drown in it. Two taps on my thigh made me jump and wrap my legs around his waist, hands in his hair now.

Our skins stuck to each other as if one. Our open mouths moved against each other like inferno. I tilted my head, just as he shoved his tongue into my mouth, earning a moan from me. He moved out of the wet space, while we were still drowned in our lusty mess.

Tonight there'll be no care.

Just lust.

Desires.

Need.

And maybeโ€ฆ something I didn't want to name.
